I Miss My Bernina

Today makes three weeks that I have been without my sewing machine. And my serger. I finally gave in and took them to the shop for their "yearly" tune-up. Too bad there is such a long waiting line.

Last week I got desperate and pulled this old crusty thing out of the garage. This is the sewing machine I learned to sew on. It is older than me. There is a reason I have a new machine.

Worst seams EVER!!  *sigh*

FYI...and just in case you haven't thought it through: When your thread makes a mess on the bottom, it means that the machine isn't threaded correctly on the top. Mess on the top, fix the bobbin.
Your upper tension may need to be cleaned out.

Janet... And just like that, you saved me from going stir-crazy!! I re-threaded the top, and after a few trial runs on a scrap, cranked the tension up to almost 6, and voila!! I'm so happy! You saved my weekend.

Thanks for teaching me how to troubleshoot my machine! Where do I send the bill? ;)

That's what you get when you step out on your Bernina! Ha Ha!
